Victor Ludorum rules
AIMS
The Victor Ludorum is designed to promote and reward a combination of
participation and achievement at the Welsh Open Regatta
RULES The cash prize of £500 will be awarded to the participating Club that
achieves the most points throughout the regatta. Points will be awarded for:-
- ONE point for every crew entered and participate in their first race,
irrespective of boat size and race category.
- ONE point for every crew beaten
- No points will be awarded for crews that scratch prior to their first
race,
- No points will be awarded for any crew disqualified for any reason.
- No points will be awarded for any composite crews.
The decision of the Regatta Committee will be final in all cases
DETAILS
- 1-3 Entries, event will not be run, so no points awarded. Crews will be
automatically entered into the nearest suitable category.
- 4- 6 Entries - 1 point for entry, 1 point for each crew beaten, for
example, in an event where there are four entries, The Winner receives 4
points (three crews beaten = 3 points, + 1 point for entry) down to last
placed who crew receive one point, (1 point for entry).
- 7 Entries - one crew drawn to final, heat one - one crew eliminated
receives 1 point for entry, crews in the final receive from 7 points (6
crews beaten + 1 point for entry) down to 2 points, (1 crew beaten in heat,
plus one point for entry).
- 8 Entries - two heats of four, last crew in each heat eliminated and
receive one 1 point each for entering, crews in the final receive 8 points
down to 3 points. • 9 Entries - one heat of four one of five, first three to
final. The crew in the heat of four that are eliminated receive 1 point,
crews eliminated in heat of five receive get either 1 or 2 points, crews in
the final receive 9 points down to 4 points.
- 10 Entries - two heats of five - crews eliminated in the heats will
receive either 1 or 2 points, crews in the final will receive 10 points down
to 5 points.
- 11 Entries - one heat of six, one of five, first three to final. The
crews in the heat of five that are eliminated will receive either 1 or 2
points, crews eliminated in the heat of six will receive either 1,2 or 3
points as appropriate. Crews in the final will receive from 11 points down
to 6 points.
- 12 Entries - two heats of six- crews eliminated in heats receive 1, 2 or
3 points, as appropriate, Crews in the final will receive from 12 points
down to 7 points.
